Baby Shower Invites

My good friend Diana is having a baby and she asked me to make the invites! Her theme was a prince and her dad created the little crowns on the computer, which I hand-cut. I went with pocket cards, and this is what I came up with. Originally I had done a star in the circle, but we changed it to fit the theme. There are three different stars stamped on the yellow, so saffron, craft ink Whisper white and a shimmery Versamark. She loved them, and I am very proud of how they came out! All supplies are from Stampin Up except the ribbon. Features Whisper White, So Saffron and Bashful Blue. I borrowed the sentiment from my friend, I'll have to try to see what set it is from. The stars are from the now retired "seeing stars" set.
Note to self though.....don't hand-cut 80 little crowns all in one night!!!! I lost the feeling in my fingers for about 4 days, ( I switch sometimes when cutting with scissors between my pointer finger and middle finger) and in my thumb for about a month! But it was worth it!

A Sweet 16 card

A gal at work asked me to make a Sweet 16 Birthday card for her daughter who will be 16 this week. Her daughter was very specific what colors her theme was to be throughout the party, so I incorporated that into her card. Here theme was to be pink, black, red, light green and white. So I did my best to include those colors in her card. I used this layout for a recent card club, but switched up the colors, added the scallop circle, and change the embossed background. The sentiment was done on the computer and I colored in the 16 with my Real Red Stampin' Up marker, and then added some glitter with a glitter pen. The cupcake liner was colored using the Green Galore stamp pad with a blender pen. The pink is Pretty in pink.

The theme for this swap is Valentine's or red/white/pink. I kind of went with both! I have a private class coming up soon, and this is what I came up with as a sample. This is going to be a framed art piece. Now I will say that we made changes for her finished sample, and I took this apart as we made changes to make a new one, so this is the only picture I have. I took it with my cell phone, so hopefully it comes out clear. It features "the Season of Friendship" (111776) stamp set, the hearts are punched out with the small heart punch (117193), Pinking hearts border punch (117649), Real Red cardstock, Pretty in Pink cardstock and Real Red 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. The ink colors are all Classic Inks, in Real Red, Chocolate Chip, and Pretty In Pink. You can't see it that well in the photo, but the large piece of Pretty in Pink is embossed with Stampin' Up's texturz plates (Background 1- 114512). The white mat is just one I picked up at a store. I didn't frame it as I didn't have a frame on hand, but just wanted to get an idea how it would look.

If you wanted to make it a card, you could change the size and omit the mat.
Hope you enjoyed this project. Thanks for hopping by!

And now onto your next stop, Sheila @ http://2pawprints.blogspot.com/

And Happy Valentine's day!!!!!
