The PhillyInkers with Shelli!

I thought I should add the whole reason that Shelli came to our neck of the woods, and here she is...Melissa! (top photo).

In the bottom photo, are some of us, the PhillyInkers!!! Not everyone was able to make it to meet Shelli today, unfortunately. A lot of the ladies that were with us have just recently joined Stampin Up, but we also had a few "seasoned" Stampin' Up Demos there as well! As I have said before, this is the group to be in! The PhillyInkers is like a big happy, supportive family! They listen to your ideas, cheer for you when your experiences have been good, and on occasion kick you in the rear when you need it! Just like any family should do!
Speaking of family, that is my real mom, Ginnie (who is also my Downline), in front of me in the brown colored shirt. My, as we call her, Stampin', Mom, or Upline, Claire is to the right and slightly in front of Melissa (in the floral shirt with the black trim).
Interested in meeting Shelli or becoming a part of this awesome family? The only way to do that is to join Stampin Up! Contact me for details! :)

Look who I met today!!!!!

No your eyes are not deceiving you! That is CEO and CoFounder of Stampin' Up, Shelli Gardner (and me)!!! How humbling it was to talk to and sit next to such a wonderful, successful business woman! Shelli was at my good friend Melissa's house in Pitman New Jersey today. Melissa won the workshop of a lifetime with Shelli and was able to invite her fellow Demonstrators the PhillyInkers to stamp chat and take lots of pictures with Shelli. It was an AMAZING day and I was so honored to be included!!!!!!!!

I received an Award!

Thank you so much to Chelsea Malouf who presented me with this reward! I am so honored! Thank you so much!

There are a few rules to this award, and here they are:

1. Put the Sunshine Award on your blog and/or in your post.

2. Pass the award to twelve other bloggers.

3. Link the Nominees within your post (this one may be harder then it sounds!)

4. Let them know they received the award by leaving a comment on their blog.

5. Share the love and link to the person whom you received the award. (OK going to try that one

too!)

I surf blogs fairly regularly. I love all of the creativity and the inspiration! So thank you everyone for that! It was very hard to narrow it to only 12 blogs though, as I love them all. But without further ado, here is my list of nominees, in no particular order:

1. A fellow PhillyInker, The FABULOUS Albert! Proof that real guys CAN craft

2. My good friend and Fellow PhillyInker - Heather

3. Another good friend and Fellow PhillyInker - Melissa

4. A very sweet Demo in Australia- Marelle!

5. The addicted almost as much as me card maker Jean

6. The very sweet and well missed Melanie

7. The very talented Enfys

8. Further proof that real guys DO stamp - Jason

9. The Ultra talented and very funny - OkieLady

10. The very sweet and talented in so many crafts - Roni

11. Awesome Card Sketches at Card Sketch a day

12. And finally a hardworking crafter and supporter of Cards for Heroes, and Operation Write Home- Sandy Allnock

This was a tough job narrowing them all down! But there is the list. I hope that as you visit each blog the creativity that you find there inspires you. And again, thank you kindly Chelsea!!!!!

Build A Bear Birthday

My daughter was invited to a birthday party a little last minute and we needed a birthday card. She picked all of the colors and left me to make the card while she went with Daddy to dance class. This card features Lavender Lace, Pretty In Pink, Whisper White and various colors for my Stampin' Up Markers for the balloons. I used the Stampin' Up Build a Bears set called "Beary Best Friends". The sentiment is from "Beary Nice Wishes". Now I have to say that I used my Stampamajig for this card A LOT! I stamped the first balloon in the bears paw and then stamped some balloons on post it notes to mask that balloon and then built onto that. I stamped the gift bag originally in Real Red Classic ink, then used my Stampin Up markers to color it in. After doing this you couldn't see the lines that were stamped so I lined up my Stampamajig again and stamped the gift bag in Black StazOn. I dropped my pen on the face of the bear, and since I was under a time crunch I stamped the head on another sheet of cardstock cut it out, and stuck it down. The party hat is also stamped separately and added on. The dots in the background were made using the dotted embossing folder which sadly the name is escaping me at the present.
Hopefully her friend liked the card!

Feeling a little Distressed?

Then make a card! :) I made these for a recent swap with the Philly Inkers. It features Lovely Lilac, Lavender Lace, Whisper White and Mellow Moss. The background is stamped with En Francois, and then distressed the edges. The strip of paper I crumpled up to make it look worn. Can I tell you that it felt almost illegal to be crumpling up perfectly good Stampin' Up cardstock?? :) The image is from the Thoughts and Prayers set. In order to achieve the two colrs I stamped the image in the Mellow Moss stamp pad, then used my blender pen to remove the Mellow Moss from the flower parts of the image, added Lavender Lace with my Stampin' Up Marker, huffed on it lightly to moisten and then stamped the image.
Each layer of the card is distressed, although for some reason I didn't distress the back Lavender Lace. (I must have been unstressed at that point, LOL.) It was a fun card to make and although the steps took a little while to complete it was worth it.
