Cards from Card Club - December

The second set of cards we made featured, the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set by Stampin' Up. We used an Old Olive stamp pad, and then used our handy Blender pen to remove some of the ink from the tree trunk. Then we used a Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker to color the trunk and branches. That gave us the two tone tree. The Old Olive cardstock we (gulp) crumpled up before tearing the edge. I always feel so "wrong" when I crumple up perfectly good SU Cardstock!!! The Very Vanilla is matted on Soft Suede, and the card base is Pretty In Pink. The sentiment is from the "On your Birthday" set. We finished off the look of the card by adding three little knots in Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, and Old Olive ribbon. I took some of the inspiration from a card created by Peggy Brooks on Stampin' Connection. (Stampin' Connection is a website exclusive to Stampin' Up Demonstrators)

Altered Notebook - Different Sentiment

I meant to post this one with the one below, but I forgot to schedule out the post dates! I used the same papers as on the other one, and the "Thoughts and Prayers" set, the only difference is the sentiment, which is from the "Apple Blossoms" Hostess set.

Items for a Craft Fair - Altered Notebook

Here's another notebook that I altered. I just can't get over how much fun these are to make! I used Designer Papers from one of the Hostess Designer Series Paper Packs that are retired now. This one is in Brocade Blue (retired), Whisper White and Soft Suede. I used the "Thoughts and Prayers" set by Stampin' Up. For the life of me I can't find where the sentiment is from. Sorry about that! The inspiration from this one came from a card I saw by Erica Jones on Stampin' Connection (membership is exclusive to Stampin' Up Demonstrators).

Feeling a little Distressed?

Then make a card! :) I made these for a recent swap with the Philly Inkers. It features Lovely Lilac, Lavender Lace, Whisper White and Mellow Moss. The background is stamped with En Francois, and then distressed the edges. The strip of paper I crumpled up to make it look worn. Can I tell you that it felt almost illegal to be crumpling up perfectly good Stampin' Up cardstock?? :) The image is from the Thoughts and Prayers set. In order to achieve the two colrs I stamped the image in the Mellow Moss stamp pad, then used my blender pen to remove the Mellow Moss from the flower parts of the image, added Lavender Lace with my Stampin' Up Marker, huffed on it lightly to moisten and then stamped the image.
Each layer of the card is distressed, although for some reason I didn't distress the back Lavender Lace. (I must have been unstressed at that point, LOL.) It was a fun card to make and although the steps took a little while to complete it was worth it.
