Cards from Card Club - December

If you missed Card Club this month, not only did you miss out on some cute Birthday cards, but you also missed out on some yummy Holiday goodies! New to cardmaking Judi brought some yummy Peanut Butter pinwheel cookies, and Lisa brought some pretzels topped with chocolate and M&M's! Mmmm Mmm!!!
So here was one of the cards we made, along with a twist. When I originally came up with the card (11:30 PM on Thursday night) I couldn't decide if I liked the Elegant Eggplant alone with the Basic Gray, or if I wanted to highlight it with a lighter green. So at the time I settled for just the Eggplant and Gray, and went to bed. The more I looked at the card on Friday, I decided to offer the green, Old Olive, and see what everyone thought. I think we all agreed that while the eggplant and Gray was nice, the Old Olive just finished the card! So the first picture is without the Old Olive, and the sentiment is from Sincere Salutations. The second card is with the Old Olive, and I changed the sentiment, however it too is from Sincere Salutations.

Regional Swap Take 1

I am counting down the minutes until the Stampin' Up Regional Seminar in Baltimore, MD on October 2nd! At the Regional there is an opportunity swap with other Stampin' Up demonstrators. So I started making these swaps. It features the "Snow Swirled" set, as well as the "Delightful Decorations" and "sincere Salutations" sets. The texture is from the Texturz plates for the BigShot. I also used the oval punch, scalloped oval punch, 3/4", 1", 1 1/4" and 1 3/8' circle punches. I used Very Vanilla and Marina Mist cardstock, and finished it all off with Very Vanilla 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. The snowflakes are "floating" with the use of fishing line!
These ended up taking a lot longer then I had anticipated, so I had to come up with a back up plan. Stay tuned for Take 2.

Ah Summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So it's official! I am now on summer vacation! Whoo hoo! Now it is no secret that I have an addiction to Facebook. That being said I have made a goal for myself. I WILL create at least three items a week, and post them to this blog. I was going to go for one a day, but we know that isn't always possible! Three times a week, I can handle that. I WILL do it!
So many of you know Stampin' Up is having a Color Renovation. With this Renovation there are many colors leaving us, while some colors are making a comeback and still more colors are new. With this Renovation I have lost lots of samples for my sample basket (sniff sniff). So I am trying to rebuild my basket by creating new goodies all with current items, and colors.
So here is my creation for today. It features the stamp set "Fast & Fabulous" which will be a level 2 hostess set in the Idea & Catalog book coming out in July. The colors used are the returning (and a personal favorite) Wild Wasabi, Perfect Plum and Whisper White. The background is stamped with the "En Francois" background stamp. The sentiment is from the "Sincere Salutations", stamped then punched out with the Oval Large punch then layered with the Scallop Oval Extra Large punch (these punches are named a litle different in the new catalog). I crumbled the piece of Wild Wasabi and then used my "Mat Pack" to draw in the faux stitching with the Perfect Plum Stampin' Write marker.
